At Cyber Without Borders, we are committed to creating a safer digital world by empowering people, particularly those in vulnerable circumstances, with the necessary skills and resources to navigate and protect themselves in the digital space. Our projects aim to not only equip people with cyber security knowledge and skills but also to connect them with opportunities in the industry.
CWB Academy
The CWB Academy is our flagship project that aims to arm the youth from slums in 10 different cities with cyber security knowledge and skills. For each intake, we target 10 youths per slum, taking them through an intensive six-month cyber security program designed to equip them with the necessary competencies to secure an entry-level position in the cyber security industry. In line with the Humanitarian Cybersecurity Center's approach to capacity building and training, we focus on both theoretical and practical aspects of cybersecurity, thereby ensuring that our graduates are industry-ready .
Mentorship Program
We understand that mentorship is vital in the career development of young professionals. This is why each student at the CWB Academy is paired with an industry expert who provides guidance and mentorship throughout their journey. These mentors, drawn from a pool of experienced cyber security professionals, not only share their expertise but also offer insights and career advice, ensuring our students have all the support they need to navigate the industry successfully.
CWB Professional Services
CWB Professional Services is our dedicated branch that offers cybersecurity services to NGOs and small businesses that can't afford basic cyber services. This is a vital initiative, considering the rising cyber threat landscape faced by NGOs . Moreover, it offers an invaluable platform for our trainees to gain real-world experience, helping them to better understand the practicalities of cyber security and preparing them for future roles in the industry.
Placement Program
Our Placement Program provides a platform for large organizations to recruit top cyber talent from our Academy. The program facilitates connections between our highly trained graduates and industry-leading companies seeking to bolster their cyber security departments. This ensures that our students not only receive the best training but also have a pathway to successful careers in the industry.
Bug Bounty Program
To contribute to the overall security of the African tech ecosystem, we've launched a Bug Bounty program. We invite cybersecurity enthusiasts and professionals to identify and report vulnerabilities in our partner organizations' digital platforms. This initiative not only aids in securing our digital space but also helps to foster a proactive cybersecurity culture.
Research and Development
Our R&D program is a pioneering initiative aiming to bolster cybersecurity measures across the African continent. The program focuses on the research and development of innovative cybersecurity products tailored to the unique threat landscape and challenges prevalent in Africa. Leveraging the continent's untapped potential, the initiative seeks to galvanize local talent and promote a culture of digital security.
